Nanticoke Memorial Hospital offers:

  • Private and semi-private rooms
  • A full bath in each room, subject to use by physician orders
  • Beds with side rails for safety—never attempt to lower them or climb over them.
  • A patient call system—located on your bed and in the bathroom for use if you feel weak or unsure of yourself or when you need assistance from your nursing staff.
  • Availability for an adult family member or visitor to stay the night.
  • At Your Service meals—room service orderable from a menu, delivered on demand at any time of day (nutritional guidelines and physician instruction may restrict choices). 
  • A closet for your belongings—please do not bring or keep valuables in your hospital room, as we cannot be responsible if they are lost or stolen. Please be sure to remove your belongings when you leave.
  • A gift shop.
  • Visitors are limited to two (2) at a time.  Children 14 and older are encouraged to visit.  Chidren under the age of 14 should be accompanied by an adult and kep under supervision at all times.  Daily visiting hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in all areas of the hospital.  Exceptions will be made in the Pediatric area where parents are encouraged to stay with their child up to 24 hours per day, in Maternity where the father/significant other may stay up to 24 hours, and in the ICU as needed.
  • Mail and flower service delivered to your room or forwarded to your home address
  • Patient education—offered over in-house channel 27, Health & Sciences Television Network. The times, dates and programs change monthly. These programs can be viewed by the patient and/or family or used to supplement other patient/family education instruction.
  • A chapel and clergy visiting privileges.
  • A pharmacy—which will fill prescriptions ordered during your stay.  Prescriptions given to you by your physician at the time of discharge cannot be filled by our pharmacy.

There is no smoking in the hospital at any time—an outside smoking area is designated.
