Blue Cross, Medicare and Medicaid—Please bring identification and membership cards. If your insurance required a referral for services, please bring this as well.
Group and Individual Commercial Coverage—If you are covered by an individual commercial insurance policy, we ask that you assign benefits to the hospital upon admission unless you plan to pay your bill in full at discharge.
Liability Insurance—In cases involving liability insurance, the hospital must look to the patient for payment regardless of the circumstances. The insurance company’s settlement will be made directly with you and not the hospital. Only if you are injured on the job, and the insurance company verifies payment of charges, will the carrier be billed directly.
Workers Compensation—If your hospitalization is caused by a work-related injury, please bring verification from your employer plus the name and address of the insurance company to be billed.
Patients Without Insurance Coverage—Our financial counselor is ready to assist you with a payment plan if you are unable to pay the full amount upon discharge.
Professional Physicians Billing—Your hospital bill does not include charges for professional services provided by physicians involved with your care. They will bill you separately from the hospital. These physicians can include anesthesiologists, surgeons, cardiologists, radiologists and other specialists.
