Nanticoke’s Golf Tournament Hits The Green With Record Results
On September 17th and 18th, Nanticoke Health Services held their 7th Annual Ladies Day Golf Tournament and the 29th Annual Open Day Golf Tournament. Over 250 golfers took to the course at Heritage Shores to enjoy the last few days of summer with sunshine and fun to help raise money for a good cause.
It is exciting to share that this year’s tournaments reach a new milestone and one that is super exciting for our community! The total net proceeds from this year’s tournament set the all-time recorded amount at $100,000! All the proceeds from the tournament will benefit The Campaign for Nanticoke – Emergency Department. Nanticoke’s Emergency Department is the busiest and most utilized department within the entire health system, with over 40,000 visits made in 2014. To meet the increasing needs of the community, Nanticoke must completely renovate and enhance the internal components of the Emergency Department. The plan calls for an expansion and complete reconfiguration of the department.
This project will help modernize and expand the department to improve patient outcomes and experiences. It will also enable Nanticoke Health Services to surpass today’s standards of care and significantly improve the patient experience. Nanticoke will be able to serve patients faster and more efficiently, and accommodate anticipated growth in patient volume in the immediate future.
Returning this year was the Pink LINKS program, and with the support of the community, Nanticoke was able to line the course with over ninety pink golf ball shaped signs “In Honor”, “In Memory”, or “In Celebration of” a loved one.
