Always Caring. Always Here.

Nanticoke Health Foundation 31st Annual Golf Tournament

September 21 & 22, 2017 | Heritage Shores Club, Bridgeville, DE

Nanticoke Health Foundation will host the 31st annual golf tournament on Thursday, September 21 and Friday, September 22, 2017 at Heritage Shores Club in Bridgeville, Delaware. Thursday’s tournament will be the Ladies Day and Friday’s tournament will be the traditional tournament open to men and women.

Participants will enjoy a fun-filled day at Heritage Shores, an Arthur Hills classic links-style course. Both days will consist of practice, 18-holes of golf, delicious food, and gross and net team prizes.

Again this year, WBOC will host the Helicopter Ball Drop fundraiser. For this event, pre-numbered golf balls are sold to the public, loaded into Chopper 16, and then dropped onto the driving range of the Heritage Shores golf course at the start of the Open Day tournament on Friday, September 22nd. The ball that lands in the hole first or is closest to the hole wins half of money collected. You do not need to be present to win. Golf balls can be purchased online here or by contacting Nanticoke Health Foundation at 302-536-5390 or FioriC@nanticoke.org.

Proceeds from the tournaments will benefit Nanticoke Cancer Care Services. Nanticoke Health Services is continuously expanding programs and services to meet the needs of the communities that we serve. Nanticoke Cancer Care Center treats patients living in Sussex County and surrounding areas, allowing them to receive lifesaving cancer treatment in Seaford. The Nanticoke Cancer Care Center combines a loving environment with quality care delivered by a team of compassionate experts. The Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.  As a result, the Nanticoke Cancer Care Center is once again expanding to meet the cancer needs of the community.

As the golfers prepare for their day of golf, they will travel past numerous golf ball shaped signs recognizing the loved ones of community members. These signs are part of the PINK Links program which allows community members to recognize loved ones and support the tournament at the same time. Community members can support the PINK Links program through a donation of $25. The pink golf ball shaped signs are available to honor, memorialize or celebrate a loved one.

Your support will impact many lives within our communities and together we can make a difference, one stroke at a time. For more information, contact the Nanticoke Health Foundation at 302-536-5390 or FioriC@nanticoke.org.

Flamingling for a Cause

A Flamingo Flocking fundraiser is being conducted by the 2017 Ladies Day Golf Committee and this Flock of Pink Flamingos has gathered upon your property to roost to benefit Nanticoke’s Cancer Care Center.

They’re coming! The flamingo flocking season will run from September 5th until September 29th, so if you would like to have one of your friends “flocked” please complete the registration form or call the Flamingo Hotline (Nanticoke Health Foundation) at 302-536-5390.

You may also purchase “Anti-Flocking Insurance”, which guarantees that no flock of flamingos will roost on your lawn. The cost of this insurance requires a donation of $25.
