Pizza King wanted to utilize their restaurants across the county to help local people in the community. Every Tuesday in October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pizza King donated a percentage of all sales from their restaurants in Seaford, Bridgeville, Georgetown, Laurel, Millsboro, and Harrington to the Allen Cancer Center at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.
When Olivia Nichols, Customer Relation/Marketing Manager for Pizza King, shared the generous amount that they were donating, Nanticoke staff members were grateful and appreciative of Pizza King’s continued efforts to make a difference in the community and the lives of those impacted by cancer. On Monday, December 4, Ms. Nichols presented a check to the Nanticoke Health Foundation totaling $5,074.26. Accepting the donation was Steven Rose, Nanticoke Health Services President/CEO; Julie Abel, Cancer Center Director; and Renee’ Morris, Foundation Executive Director.
This money will be used to support the Allen Cancer Center for patients undergoing radiation or medical oncology services. The cancer programs at Nanticoke also help patients through support groups, providing assistance with transportation when needed, and helping patients navigate the healthcare system through its care coordinator.
Nanticoke is continuously overwhelmed by the generosity of the community and all those who came out to Pizza King to show their support. Thank you to everyone at Pizza King, for bringing awareness to Breast Cancer and for positively impacting the cancer patients in our community.
