It is important that everyone has a primary care provider. All women 18 years and older should have annual women’s wellness check with your gynecologist or primary care physician. An annual women’s well check should include a PAP smear and clinical breast exam.
Cervical Cancer Screening (PAP Smear)
All women should have a PAP smear during their annual gynecological wellness exam. A PAP smear helps screen for cervical cancer. During this screening, cells are gently scraped from the cervix and sent to a lab to be examined under a microscopic for abnormalities.

WOMEN 40+ YEARS
- Annual Mammogram: NANTICOKE HAS 3D MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGY! With the GeniusTM 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exams, developed by Hologic, Inc., small breast cancers are more easily detected, a problem with traditional 2D mammography. With a 3D image, this type of mammography also decreases the number of women who are asked to return for additional testing.

WOMEN 50+ YEARS
For people over 50 years of age, a colonoscopy is recommended every 5 to 10 years. If your family has a history of colon cancer, talk to your physician.
A colonoscopy is used to detect colon cancer or to find polyps before they become cancerous.
